Who we are
Building Stronger Communities Foundation (BSCF) was founded in March 2021 in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. In the face of crisis, BSCF rose to the occasion by mobilizing critical medical supplies to hospitals across Jamaica. This effort united Jamaicans both at home and abroad in a shared mission to support and uplift our communities during a time of urgent need.
Incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of Delaware, BSCF is dedicated to serving individuals and communities impacted by natural disasters and other emergencies. Our mission is rooted in compassion, responsiveness, and sustainable community development.
We proudly operate under the guiding ethos: “Together, we build stronger.”
BSCF is committed to:
Providing emergency relief and long-term recovery support
Bridging diaspora resources with local needs
Promoting transparency, equity, and community empowerment
Our team includes two board members and a dedicated group of five volunteers and coordinators based in both the United States and Jamaica.
Our most recent call to action came in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, which devastated Jamaica’s southwestern coast. Once again, BSCF stepped forward to respond to the tragedy, reaffirming our commitment to stand with those in need — not only in moments of crisis, but through the long road to recovery.
